Your Future Self is Calling: Will You Answer?
Jan 14, 2025Ever wish you could fast-forward to the version of yourself who’s got it all figured out? The one who wakes up early for yoga, has a clean house, and remembers to hydrate without needing a motivational water bottle? Good news: that higher-evolved version of you is already cheering you on, waiting to drop some serious wisdom…if only you’d listen.
This is something I meditate on daily – and try to speak with and even write to my more evolved and wiser self. I have even named her – her name is Grace. When I need someone to talk to, or even write to, I write to Grace. She is the best version of me. The version who is wise, divine, no baggage, no judgment – just ethereal and light.
Here’s the trick: believing in your future self isn’t about waiting until you’re “perfect.” It’s about realizing that the wiser, calmer, more balanced you is already in the room, whispering, “You’ve got this!” So next time you’re debating whether to binge another series or meditate for ten minutes, ask yourself, “What would future me do?” Spoiler alert: they’re probably lighting a candle and journaling, not Googling how long leftover pizza is safe to eat.
To tap into this magical connection, try envisioning yourself three years from now. What are they doing? What do they know that you don’t (yet)? Now, let their confidence rub off on you. Write them a letter in your phone notes or journal, ask for advice, or just pretend they’re sending you a pep talk in the form of good vibes. You’d be surprised how much clarity you can gain from asking yourself, “What would the best version of me choose in this moment?”
Need a little inspiration? Check out the book The Gap and The Gain by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy. It’s a game-changer for flipping your mindset from focusing on what’s missing to celebrating how far you’ve already come. I actually binge read the books they wrote together and separately. No need to wait – be with/consult with……..be your future self now.
So, go ahead, start that conversation with future you. They’re not just rooting for you—they’re proof that transformation is possible. And if all else fails, remember this: they didn’t get there by ignoring the call to believe in what’s possible.
Answer it today, and let the magic begin!
